Getting the most out of a die set

As with most good quality art supplies, die sets are not cheap! For me, they are an investment so, before I buy, I try to determine at least five ways to use the product in order to make it a worthwhile purchase. Now, this post is going to be fairly short because I’ve got a YouTube video to go with it explaining everything in detail, so go and check it out. But, in summary, I took a die set (in this case, the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month for April 2025) and made seven very different cards using elements from the set.

This is how the die set was intended to be used. It’s an adorable little scene.

I used the snail shell component to make a beach themed card.

Again, I used the snail shell component to make lollipops. The sticks of the lollipops were made using the tulip stem.

A simple yet effective card where I used the small envelope and the heart element.

Here I used the tulips and added some extra leaves.

This came together very quickly. I created the stripes by die cutting the base of the mail box in different colours.

This is quite a retro looking card where I used the hillside die to create these wavy sections.

Now, as you can see from the card samples, I used a variety of sentiments, embossing folders and, mainly, Gina K Designs Master Layout 1, 2 and 18. However, I certainly made the most of the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month for April 2025.
